Milan is world famous for its fashion, art, architecture and industry. And its food. And Osso Buco in particular, paired as is traditional with golden Risotto alla Milanese and served with zingy Gremolata (garlic, parsley and lemon zest).
Osso Buco is a rich glossy unctuous veal stew made with wine, tomatoes and lemon, and full of decadent, deep slow cooked flavour.
For a high-speed recipe, simply sear some veal or pork (sausages and meatballs work well too), simmer in the sauce and serve. If there’s no time to make risotto, then plain rice, buttery polenta and creamy mashed potato are all welcome additions to this meal of truly deep comfort.
