FAQS

Is Sacla’ Vegan Pesto suitable for a plant-based diet?

We want everyone to enjoy Sacla’ Pesto, regardless of their dietary or lifestyle requirements. That’s why we make our free from Pesto without any animal products. It’s dairy-free, gluten-free, wheat-free and suitable for coeliacs, vegetarians and vegans.

Where can I find tasty vegan recipes?
What type of nuts are used in Sacla’ Vegan Pesto?

We use high-quality cashew nuts in our Vegan Pesto recipe. Blended with all the other ingredients, they add a satisfying creaminess to the Pesto. We also use pine kernels, which are not technically nuts but seeds from pine trees, and when they are blended, they release natural oils, helping to emulsify the Pesto, giving it a smooth texture and nutty taste.

Apart from Pesto Pasta, how can I use Vegan Basil Pesto?

Our Vegan Basil Filled Mushrooms make a stunning starter for a dinner party, or pop a couple onto a plate for a vegan, gluten-free main course. You can find the recipe here. Vegan Basil Pesto also pairs beautifully with plant proteins. Marinate tofu in Pesto before baking or grilling and toss with chickpeas, white beans or farro for a quick, protein-rich salad like Zesty Pea, Farro and Basil Pesto Salad.

What goes well with Vegan Tomato Pesto?

Pesto pasta is a match made in heaven, and our Vegan Tomato Pesto is so full of flavour you can simply stir it through freshly cooked pasta for a satisfying meal.  Add a little pasta water for a silkier sauce. It’s so versatile, you can also stir it through Mediterranean roasted vegetables, toss it with couscous or quinoa for a delicious grain bowl or spread it on flatbreads, panini and bruschetta for extra tanginess.
