What kind of nuts are used in this Pesto, and is it only made with ricotta cheese?

Sacla’ Tomato & Ricotta Pesto is inspired by the vibrant flavours of Southern Italy. We make it with carefully selected cashew nuts and a blend of three Italian cheeses - creamy ricotta, rich Parmigiano Reggiano PDO, and tangy Pecorino Romano PDO, for a perfectly balanced, indulgent taste.

Does Sacla' Tomato & Ricotta Pesto need to be cooked?

No cooking needed! You can enjoy our Tomato & Ricotta Pesto straight from the jar - it’s wonderful as a dip with crudités or stirred through a fresh salad, like our Mediterranean couscous salad. When added to warm pasta or other hot dishes, the gentle heat enhances its rich, savoury flavour even more.

Is it safe for me to eat Pesto if I’m pregnant?

Premium Pesto, such as Sacla’ Pesto, is safe to eat during pregnancy. While it contains Italian hard cheese, Sacla’ uses pasteurised cheese, which means it can be safely enjoyed even when pregnant.

How long does Pesto last once opened?

As Sacla’ Pesto is pasteurised, there is no need to store unopened jars of Pesto in the fridge. Simply use them before their ‘Best Before’ date. Opened jars should be kept in the fridge and can be eaten safely for up to 2 weeks without risk or noticeable loss of flavour.

Does Pesto freeze well?

Sacla’ Pesto can be stored in a home freezer for up to a month without any noticeable loss of flavour. Pesto can be frozen for longer (up to 6 months), but it will lose some flavour in this time. When used in a sauce or marinade, for example, this will hardly be noticed.
