Paolo Masi is a gifted Italian winemaker and this flagship Chianti Riserva is a notch above the rest, thanks to his meticulous methods and the location of his vineyards in the highly-regarded Rufina area of Tuscany. Founded in 1900, Paolo took over the estate from his father in 1993 and has worked hard to modernise and improve both the vineyards and the cellar. Aged in oak barrels for 14 months, this elegant 2019 Chianti Riserva is a silky, rich and complex red. Medium-bodied, made with the Sangiovese grape, it has ripe plum, cherry and bitter chocolate notes and a rich red berry and liquorice aroma.
