Little Plates, Big Flavour

Friarielli is similar to Broccoli Rabe, in Italian known as Cime di Rapa, but is slightly more bitter with tender stems. Friarielli is grown in very small quantities, mainly in Italy, which ensures its consistent quality, making sure that you have the very best product every time. Known for its slightly bitter, almond-like taste, it is a staple in Neapolitan cuisine. To try a truly Neapolitan dish, mix with sausage, chilli and garlic! Alternatively, it is perfect to top pizzas, pastas and even as an antipasto and dine like a true Neapolitan!

FAQ

Please browse our Frequently Asked Questions below, where you'll find answers to many of the most common queries.

Antipasti are traditional Italian appetisers served before the main course. The term literally means ‘before the meal’.

Antipasti stimulate the appetite and often include a colourful variety of small bites - typically a mix of cured meats, cheeses, marinated vegetables, olives, seafood, and breads. They can be served plated individually or as a shared platter.

Typically, antipasti is served cold or at room temperature, but some are better served warm, like baked crostini with our Sun-Dried Tomatoes or mini pizzette topped with our Friarielli.

Antipasto is singular (one plate or serving), while antipasti are plural (multiple dishes or a shared platter).

It depends on the ingredients, but popular choices include:

·       White wines: Pinot Grigio, Vermentino, Sauvignon Blanc

·       Red wines: Chianti, Barbera, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo

·       Sparkling: Prosecco pairs beautifully with mixed antipasti
