More about our packaging

We’ve been making real Italian food with care, flair and love for over three generations now.

We’re still owned and run by the same family, and few things matter more to us than the values that are at the heart of the business.

Of course, we treasure our past, but our focus is firmly on the future.

It has to be.

Because we are determined to leave the world in a better shape than we found it.

And positively transform the food lives of future generations.

Sacla’ packaging

Most of our packaging is recyclable and we are working hard to make sure all of it is. Our glass jars and metal caps are made with 15% recycled materials, and our cardboard trays are made with at least 40% recycled material.

You might have seen that we all sell Sacla’ Pesto in pots. This means there’s no food waste when a jar is just too big for a smaller household. These plastic pots are recyclable but not all local councils can currently manage this.

Recycle, reuse, repurpose

It’s time to be practical.

Little Sacla’ jars have so many uses around the home and especially in your kitchen.  Store spices and herbs, shake up a salad dressing. Or use to store pencils, paint brushes, make up brushes … and for a vase of beautiful flowers.

Pesto pots have so many uses too – we love them for planting seedlings, but they’re pretty much anything goes pots.

Deliveries to your door

It’s important that we get your truly madly deeply Italian products to you in tip-top condition, and balance this by using the most environmentally friendly packaging that we can.

The crumpled paper is 100% recycled, neutral pH kraft paper and is both recyclable and biodegradable.

The bubble bags we use are 100% oxo-biodegradable, so generate less plastic pollution because they can be recycled in the appropriate way.

All our outer boxes are made from 100% recycled board and are recyclable, so please treat these as you would your other cardboard waste.
