Goat’s Cheese & Pesto Plait

Ingredients

  • 1 x 376g pack Puff pastry
  • Flour
  • 4 tbsp Sacla’ Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto
  • 100g Sacla’ Antipasti Trio of Roasted Peppers, drained
  • 100g Goat's cheese, crumbled
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 1 Egg, beaten

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 220°C/425°F/Gas mark 7
  2. Unroll the pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into four pieces
  3. Cut along the longer edges at 1.5cm intervals, 6cm deep to make a fringe
  4. Spread the middle of the pastry with a generous layer of Sacla’ Pesto, top with the peppers and goat's cheese and season
  5. Starting at the top, alternately fold the strips inwards at a 45° angle over the filling to form a plait
  6. Carefully transfer the plait onto a baking sheet and brush it with the egg
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and slice to serve
