We were determined to find a great white sauce for Lasagne, one of the mother sauces of Italian food, so that everyone can enjoy this family favourite. It’s white and creamy, and prepared in our Italian kitchens using soya to replace the dairy ingredients that are traditionally used. A generous sprinkle of black pepper and nutmeg complete the recipe.
It pairs perfectly with our “Free From” Bolognese Sauce to create a delicious Lasagne, whether using mince or vegetarian options such as roasted vegetables or mushrooms. And it works brilliantly in other dishes like scalloped potatoes or as a gratin sauce for asparagus.
Suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
Be in the know… The earliest known Lasagne recipes date back to the thirteenth century. At that time, tomatoes were not even known in Europe!
How to use
Whilst the sauce naturally pairs with our Free From Bolognese to make a lasagne, it is an excellent ingredient for enriching dishes such as scalloped potatoes or asparagus as a gratinata.
