There’s so much more to Italian food than just pizza and pasta. The length and breadth of Italy we enjoy all kinds of fish, meat and vegetables.
Pollo alla Cacciatora – or Hunter’s Chicken – is a rich, hearty dish found on every traditional menu. This Recipe Base has all the authenticity and taste of this classic and because we’ve spent hours in the kitchen cooking it, you don’t have to.
We’ve prepared this sauce with traditional soffritto (sautéed onions, celery and carrots), masses of fresh tomatoes, Piedmontese red wine, and juicy green and black olives. Enjoy the finished dish the traditional way with chicken – or use it creatively with fish and vegetables.
Be in the know… In Northern Italy, Cacciatora often includes white wine, whilst Southern Italian chefs will use red.
